Travel Pain-Free with Dr. Li | How to Use Your CORE to Protect Your BACK!

  • December 17, 2018

Hello! This is Dr. Michael Li from Mobility Plus.

Holidays are upon us. We know we’re going to travel and spend a lot of time in the car or on the plane, and that’s not going to be friendly to your low back.

So, I want you to do this or try this while you’re in the car or plane to take some pressure off the low back.

It's pretty simple, if you’re on the plane, use your own thighs or the armrests, if you’re in the car, same thing. Be safe out there when you drive, okay?

Here's what I want you to do: sit nice and tall, put your hands hard along your thighs.

While you’re doing this, you want to feel that your core muscles working --That’s how you’re going to take the pressure off the back, by engaging your core muscles.

So, hold that spot, staying nice and tall, try to hold that for 10 breaths. If you're driving, try to do that every time you see a white car. On the plane, every time they say put on your seat belt, do that.

This will go a long way to help the back feel better and will make your traveling so much more enjoyable.

So, this is Dr. Michael Li from Mobility Plus here to help you move better and feel better! Let’s get moving, guys!

Happy Holidays!
